1. 🗽 Respect for the Freedom and Dignity of the Individual
Respecting the freedom and dignity of the individual. Every Australian has the right to express their views, practice their religion, and be free from discrimination.
Defending our shared Western heritage and Australian values against ideological assault.
The Australian Values Institute (AVI) stands as a bulwark against the erosion of our nation's identity. We are a research and advocacy organisation dedicated to defending the Australian and Western values that built this nation.
Our values are under threat. Free speech is being constrained, our history is rewritten to suit ideological narratives, institutions increasingly serve agendas contrary to the public interest, and the rule of law is applied selectively. We document these threats and fight back.
We stand for the Western heritage—founded in the Enlightenment, constitutional democracy, individual liberty, and the rule of law—that made Australia successful. We are not neutral about defending these principles.
To awaken Australians to the threat our values face, to provide evidence of systematic undermining of Western civilization within our institutions, and to mobilise citizens to defend and restore the principles that built our nation.
The fundamental values that define Australian society. Most migrants and new citizens must sign up to it to obtain citizenship. Unfortunatlely, these values are often not respected, both by many new migrants, and Australian Government Agencies.
Respecting the freedom and dignity of the individual. Every Australian has the right to express their views, practice their religion, and be free from discrimination.
Freedom of religion (including the freedom not to follow a particular religion), freedom of speech, and freedom of association.
Commitment to the rule of law, which means that all people are subject to the law and should obey it.
Parliamentary democracy whereby our laws are determined by parliaments elected by the people, those laws being paramount and overriding any other inconsistent religious or secular "laws".
Equality of opportunity for all people, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, race, or national or ethnic origin.
A 'fair go' for all that embraces:
The English language as the national language, and as an important unifying element of Australian society.
The Australian Values Institute was founded from clear necessity. As we observed the systematic erosion of Western and Australian values across education, media, bureaucracy, and corporate institutions, it became obvious that passivity was no longer an option.
We exist because institutions that should protect our heritage instead work against it. Because voices defending traditional values are marginalised and silenced. Because legal and regulatory systems increasingly serve ideological agendas rather than the public good.
We fight to ensure Australian and Western values are enforced, respected, and passed to the next generation—including ensuring those who migrate to Australia understand and respect the values that built this nation.
We research and expose attacks on Australian freedom and Western heritage—tracking institutional capture, ideological bias, and the systematic undermining of our values with rigorous evidence.
We teach Australians about the heritage under attack and why it matters. Through our work, citizens learn what's at stake and gain the knowledge to push back against cultural Marxism and other hostile ideologies.
We don't just observe—we fight. We provide practical tools for citizens to file complaints, challenge institutional overreach, and hold decision-makers accountable to Australian values.
Our values are under siege—stand with us to defend Australia's Western heritage.
